Both are typically made from hardened steel or high-grade aluminum to withstand high pressure and temperature. 2. Ejection Mechanism – Precision ejector pins or plates ensure smooth removal of the finished fitting without damage. 4. Runner and Gate System – Designed to facilitate smooth flow of molten PVC into the mould cavity, minimizing material waste and ensuring uniform filling. Material and Durability U-PVC moulds must endure high temperatures (typically 180–220°C) and abrasive PVC compounds. Tool steels like P20, H13, or stainless steel are commonly used for their hardness, corrosion resistance, and longevity. Surface treatments such as nitriding or chrome plating enhance wear resistance and extend mould life. Manufacturing Process The production of U-PVC pipe fittings involves: 1. Material Preparation – U-PVC pellets are dried and fed into the injection moulding machine. 2. Injection Moulding – Molten PVC is injected into the mould under high pressure, filling the cavity precisely. 3. Cooling and Ejection – The mould is cooled, and the solidified fitting is ejected. 4. Post-Processing – Flash removal, deburring, and quality checks ensure the fittings meet specifications. Quality and Precision High-quality moulds produce fittings with tight tolerances, smooth finishes, and consistent wall thickness. Proper venting prevents air traps, and polished surfaces reduce friction for easier demoulding.
