Makino, a global high-end machine tool manufacturing giant, recently announced that its fully automated mold intelligent workshop located in Suzhou Industrial Park, China, has been officially completed and put into operation. The total investment of this project is about 30 million US dollars, and it is Makino's first mold production base in China to achieve the level of a "black light factory", marking a new stage in the automation level of China's precision mold manufacturing field.

Core highlight: Fully unmanned intelligent production throughout the process

The workshop adopts the iAutomation intelligent manufacturing system independently developed by Makino, integrating multiple high-precision five axis machining centers, automated logistics lines, and cloud control platforms to achieve unmanned operations throughout the entire process from raw material warehousing to finished product delivery

Intelligent scheduling system: Real time optimization of production tasks through AI algorithms, dynamically allocated to 12 high-end machining centers in Makino (including the latest a500Z vertical machining center and U6 oil electric composite machining machine);

Automated logistics network: AGV robots+three-dimensional warehouses achieve 24-hour material transfer, and the efficiency of key component replacement is increased by 50%;

Digital twin monitoring: Real time mapping of equipment operation data to cloud dashboards, and stable control of mold processing accuracy within ± 3 μ m.

Focus on new energy vehicles and the electronics industry

XinCheJian focuses on serving the high-end manufacturing needs of the East China region. After reaching production capacity, it can produce over 2000 sets of precision molds annually, mainly used for:

✅  Integrated die-casting mold for new energy vehicles

✅  Precision fixture for semiconductor packaging testing

✅  Consumer electronics injection molds

According to Yasuhiro Yamada, General Manager of Makino China, this project will help customers shorten the mold delivery cycle by 40% and assist strategic partners such as Tesla, BYD, and Luxshare Precision in accelerating product iteration.

Deepen the localization strategy layout

The upgrade of the Suzhou factory is a key step in Makino's "Made in China 2025" plan:

Localization of technology: 80% of core components are procured locally in China;

Localization of Talents: Establish a 30 member local R&D team to develop customized intelligent manufacturing solutions;

Service network strengthening: relying on Suzhou base to radiate the Yangtze River Delta, providing 24-hour remote operation and maintenance support

Industry significance: Reshaping the paradigm of mold manufacturing

Qin Ke, Secretary General of the China Mold Industry Association, pointed out that "for the first time, the Muye fully automated workshop combines the single piece flow production mode of mold manufacturing with large-scale automation, providing a replicable intelligent manufacturing model for the industry and promoting China's transformation from a 'mold country' to a 'mold power'
